Very drought tolerant.

Durban is the most shade tolerant of all the shade grasses.

It requires only 3 hours of direct sunlight per day, or filtered sunlight for a longer period.

Sweet Smother is soft in texture and has a lime green colour in full sunlight and in shaded areas will present slightly darker.

It is well suited as a domestic lawn and will withstand average wear.

Durban is used extensively at Mt Coo-tha Botanical Gardens.
